Vehicles in Germany's Town Found Smeared with Swastikas in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Confirm

Authorities mentioned they were notified by a man who discovered a vehicle in Hanau smeared with reddish fluid

Roughly fifty vehicles have been smeared with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German municipality of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, according to authorities.

Vehicles, building surfaces and postal boxes were marked, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they reported in a release.

Law enforcement say they were alerted late on Wednesday night, when a man discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish substance.

The fluid had been placed in the pattern of a swastika, they reported.

Police then located numerous other smeared cars and building exteriors in the nearby vicinity.

These symbols are illegal in Germany under legislation banning the public exhibition of symbols from the Nazi era.

Officials state preliminary tests indicate the liquid was probably human bodily fluid.

"Currently there is no lead as to where it came from; officials are not yet informed of any injuries in association with the incident," they commented.

Municipal representatives said they were trying "to solve the incident" and have requested to the community for tips.

A senior representative said the attack left him stunned and had to be addressed promptly.

"This event strikes at the core of Hanau and reopens the trauma of the extremist terrorist attack in 2020," he posted on online, referring to the death of nine people by a shooter targeting individuals of migrant background in 2020.
